1. Purpose of the Policy
This Privacy Policy explains the basic principles for the secure, transparent and proportionate processing of user information in connection with the website, mobile applications and related services provided by Petkatalog.
Detailed information on the legal conditions for processing personal data, transfer principles and user rights is provided in the Petkatalog KVKK Privacy Notice.
2. Data Minimisation
Petkatalog's approach is to process only the data necessary to provide the relevant service, fulfil orders, ensure account and transaction security, comply with legal obligations and serve legitimate operational purposes.
The aim is not to request more personal data than the service requires and not to collect unnecessary data.
3. Account Security
Users must not share passwords, SMS verification codes, one-time verification codes or account access details with third parties.
Petkatalog may request additional verification or temporarily protect an account if an unusual login, suspicious transaction or security risk is detected.
4. Payment Security
Card payments may be processed through the infrastructure of the relevant bank or authorised payment service provider.
The principle is that card security information, such as full card numbers and CVV codes, is not stored in Petkatalog systems.
Petkatalog does not describe any security technology as “unbreakable” or absolutely secure. Technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risks are implemented to protect personal data and electronic transactions.
5. Delivery Information
Information necessary for delivery, such as the user's name, telephone number and delivery address, may be used in Petkatalog's own delivery operations or shared with the relevant shipping, logistics or delivery service provider only to the extent necessary.
6. Location Information
Where location information is used in the mobile application, the necessary permission is obtained from the user through the device's operating system.
Location information may be used to determine eligibility for express delivery, facilitate address selection or provide location-based functions expressly requested by the user.
Access to location information must not be broader or more continuous than the relevant service requires.
7. Pet Profiles
Users may choose to create profiles for their pets.
These profiles may contain the pet's name, species, breed, age, date of birth, weight, product preferences and similar information.
This information may be used to provide profile functions requested by the user, facilitate shopping and display appropriate product recommendations.
8. Personalisation
Past orders, product preferences, pet profiles and user actions on the Platform may be used to personalise the shopping experience to the extent that the applicable legal conditions are met.
Marketing profiling or tracking activities requiring explicit consent are carried out only where the necessary consent or another valid legal condition exists.
9. Commercial Electronic Messages
Prior consent is obtained from the user, where required by law, for commercial electronic messages containing Petkatalog promotions, products, discounts and offers.
SMS, email and mobile marketing notifications may be managed through separate preference settings.
Marketing consent is not tied to acceptance of the membership agreement or placement of an order.
Service notifications such as order confirmations, delivery, invoicing, payment and account security messages are separate from marketing messages.

The Petkatalog website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, measure performance and, where the necessary permissions exist, for marketing purposes.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services.
If a user accesses a third-party service outside Petkatalog, that third party's own privacy policies may apply.
13. Data Security
Petkatalog implements technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the risks to prevent unlawful processing of and access to personal data and to ensure their secure storage.
Methods such as authorisation, access control, logging, secure software development, encryption where necessary, secure communication protocols and system monitoring may be used.
14. Retention and Deletion
User data are retained for the period required by the relevant processing purpose and the applicable legislation.
Data whose retention obligation has ended are deleted, destroyed or anonymised in accordance with the applicable legislation.
15. Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated in response to changes in legislation, the technology used or Petkatalog's services.
The current version becomes accessible from the date it is published on the Petkatalog website and/or mobile applications.
